Big moves, three new ones and a new number one this week. Bristol based electronic chill-wiz Stumbleine ascends the top with the insanely addictive 'The Beat My Heart Skips' featuring the gorgeous vocal work of German based American artist Nicole Briggs (aka CoMa). Stockholm via Umeå singer Cajsa Siik's emotion driven piece of effects laden pop, 'Was I Supposed To' moves up six spots and into the top five at three while New York electronic duo Tubetops also move into that quintet from 16 with Silent Eyes sporting the vocal candy of Ellie Fletcher (Kyiki).
The big debuts this week are led by Melbourne indie pop trio Pop Singles with the title track, 'All Gone' in at 11 off their debut long player released on Vacant Valley on vinyl and CD in Australia in July and through US Iowa based cassette demons Night People back in late August. Grab Night People's fantastic new compilation sampler right here. Look out for a write up on the Pop Singles record and a couple of more tracks later this week.
Taking a completely different tack, the next new entry is from our favourite and more importantly the independently signed Knowles sister, Solange. Her new single, 'Losing You', in at 18 is a ripper as is its excellent Melina Matsoukas video shot in township Cape Town, South Africa.
Rounding off the new entries at number 20 is the ethereal new single, 'How Do You Know' by Brooklyn dream popsters Field Mouse. The single is part of the six single series by label Lefse that begun with the Psychic Twin release, 'Gonna Get Her' back in July. The series also includes Mister Lies, Sun Glitters, Martin Eden (Matthew Cooper of Eluvium) and Big Search (Matt Popieluch of Fools Gold/Foreign Born). Grab the whole series here.
