ARBES EP DEBUTS SWIMMINGLY

Swimmer, the debut EP from Melbourne surf pop outfit Arbes, originally released in Australia digitally back in May, last week scored a limited edition cassette release through London DIY label Sports Day Records. Consisting of Jess Zanoni’s affectively constructed vocals and elastic bass lines, Anita Agathanelou’s effusive and restless stick work and Sam Pannifex’s intricate delay drenched guitars, the self-admitted bashful “okay? trio” (according to their twitter account) have been acquiring a deal of blog love over the past couple of weeks surrounding the international release. We’re more than happy to join the love-in. Swimmer can be bought digitally on the band's bandcamp page for a steal $1AUD and on cassette (only 50 in the run) here or here. The perfect accompaniment to the now or soon to be sweltering northern hemisphere summer. Let’s hope this is just the start from a young band chock full of potential, (they're still in their teens btw). This is indicative on the EP's first two tracks, the bang on hook driven 'Beach Side' and the dreamy, tropic inspired 'Key Largo' both of which can be streamed below.
